Places
(workin' on it)
The idea behind Places is to frame it around people and the relationships they have with their surroundings. Compulsion towards exploration, and all that. Maybe start with a minor expounding on areas / sectors / zones / distances, starting from the smallest spaces to the largest. You can kind of see that flow based on the following set of things I intend to give basic advice on.
* Structures and their Function: this may be the largest, as it will import what i need from the original game's bases and headquarters thing. I may add a bit more, depending, in keeping with architecture moving on since 1986.
probably a bit on each type of room and building. like in the dayse of oldee.
* Towns, Cities, and Villages: i guess basic notes on creating pretend agglomerations of people (or whatever). Some of the advice here may come from the Deluxe City boxed set, since it has a lot of really good advice about making cities. I'd feel bad, but they themselves borrowed most of it.
maybe a sample of each?
* Nations: sort of an outgrowth of the above, this is the same thing, just on a larger scale. Basic things about countries and what they need, since making up a country missing some basic things may not land well in one's game.
definitely several samples. some from varying time periods and governmental realities.
* Worlds: a further embiggening. But then nothing in the old system really had anything about making planets, whether randomly or those seeming legion that can always support the life functions of the player characters. Sci-Fi is wonky that way.
gimme planetary samples. a few earthlikes, a few barren rocks, a gas giant, maybe a gas giant like that one in X-men that had a breathable atmosphere, just some normal and some downright bizarre places. that should work well.
* Planes: how to detail a universe and all that. Basic notes about physical laws (can they support the existence of life, or even matter? and if not, how long can one stay before the place tears them apart?), any important notes about it, that kind of thing.
quite a few sample universes. the astral plane, the Chaos (need that for another project, after all!), and more. like Planet T!
* Reality itself!: uh. i guess anything i think i need to add once I'm done with everything else. As long as it's not something i already covered in the bits elsewhere about spatial and temporal dimensions. in Judging the Game i think. I have notes on that stuff, though.
